Angelo Ilagan is Emman, The Activist in Alimuom Ng Kahapon (Shadows of Yesterday)

     Angelo Ilagan plays one of the lead roles in Alimuom ng Kahapon (Shadows of Yesterday) as Emman, a farmer’s son from the province. His family farms the land that remains to be owned by wealthy landlords unmovable by the Comprehensive Land Reform Program. As a student, he counts himself indigent. But poverty has given him the strength to become a fighter. This is his strong attribute that makes him fearless to march and rally in the streets for the education of the poor, lobbying against tuition fee increases, and other student issues. But sometimes one has personal issues to deal with aside from the causes of the activists, and Emman is caught up with this life. He may be strong outside but has a very soft spot inside.

  Angelo was a part of Star Circle Batch 13. In 2006, his acting was noticed and was awarded the Golden Screen Breakthrough Performance by an Actor for his role in the film Sarong Banggi. He has appeared in other movies like Ouija and Unfriend. On TV he appeared in several Maalaala Mo Kaya episodes, in Anghel na Walang Langit, Posh, and Magkano ba ang Pag-ibig.

Alimuom ng Kahapon (Shadows of Yesterday) is a film about relationships that develop amidst contrasting ideals and principles. It is set in Manila when the country is embattled by scams involving pork barrels. Just like Alimuom, there could be unwanted secrets that get released in the open.

     The film stars Star Circle Quest 2004 alumnus DM Sevilla who plays the role of Nathan, a lifestyle photographer who was sent as a reliever to cover a rally for the newspaper he is working for. His attention was caught by Emman, a student activist, who was rallying against tuition fee increase. Emman is played by the Angelo Ilagan.

  The film also stars Manuel Chua, Sebastian Castro, Marq Dollentes, Rex Lantano and Ford Fernandez, with the special participation of Jong Cuenco, Alizon Andres, Godofredo Dela Cruz and Angelina Kanapi. The screenplay was written by Rosswil H. Hilario, Rolando Inocencio, and Julius Lumiqued and directed by Rosswil H. Hilario under Mountain Trail Films in cooperation with EDGE Manila Creatives Corp.

Alimuom Ng Kahapon (Shadows of Yesterday) is the Queer Pride Feature at the UPFI Film Center this June

     Shadows of Yesterday (Alimuom Ng Kahapon) is the University of the Philippines Film Institute's Queer Pride presentation for its current midyear season of screenings.  A special screening with actors will be held on June 23, 7:00pm at the UPFI Film Center, and on June 30, 2:30pm, 5:00pm and 7:00pm.  The film is in Filipino with English subtitle.

His attention is caught by Emman, a student activist, who's rallying against tuition fee increase. Nathan develops an interest in him and starts following rallies just to take pictures of Emman. A special relationship grows between them, but isn't smooth, it's full of clashes and a love-hate relationship develops as both gets caught up with their differences as they are forced to make choices.

DM Sevilla plays Nathan, The Photographer in Alimuom Ng Kahapon (Shadows of Yesterday)


     DM Sevilla is Nathan. Nathan grew up with all the niceties in life. He is literally living a very comfortable life because he gets everything that he wants. He is single and good-looking. He has a good education, a house, a car, and a glamorous job. Nathan is a lifestyle photographer, capturing moments of the rich and famous, the bourgeois life. He is a perfect catch. However, things changed when he was assigned to relieve for a co-worker to follow people in the streets, people in the rallies. It was a sudden change of heart, but all because his heart was captured by the subject he aimed to capture. It is going to be a roller coaster ride when one is in the dilemma in giving up everything for the man he chose to love.

     DM Sevilla, in his first lead role, is playing the role of Nathan. After being offered the role and reading the script of Alimuom ng Kahapon, DM got excited and has been actively taking part from the beginning of the project as the Casting Director. This is DM's most challenging and daring act so far. DM hopes to have given justice for the LGBT communities among the upper class of society who may relate with the role.

     DM Sevilla is a Star Circle Quest 2004 Alumnus. He appeared in television for several Maalaala  Mo Kaya episodes and soap operas like Mula sa Puso, and Princess and I. He has also been a part of films like Signos, Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay, and Ronda.

Alimuom Ng Kahapon (Shadows of Yesterday) Will Premiere At The Durban Gay And Lesbian Film Festival Today )

     Our film Alimuom Ng Kahapon with international title Shadows Of Yesterday will be having its premiere tonight at 8:30pm, at the Durban Gay and Lebian Film Festival in South Africa.

Durban Gay & Lesbian Film Festival List of Films
     Founded in 2011 as the first city-based LGBTI film Festival in Africa, the Durban Gay and Lesbian FilmFestival (DGLFF) has successfully held 4 festivals so far (2011-2014) and will be holding the 5th annual DGLFF at the KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts (KZNSA) Gallery in Durban South  Africa. The Festival is organized by festival director Jason Fiddler. Proceeds from the project will benefit both KZNSA and the KwaZulu-Natal  Gay and Lesbian Tourism  Association (KZNGALTA), respectively.
